HAGAKURE
Freedom and Passion

"Hagakure," renowned for the phrase "The Way of the Samurai is found in death," is a book centered around death, embodying freedom and passion. It was deeply admired by Yukio Mishima, who kept it close until the end.

This project seeks to revive the Bushido spirit of "Hagakure" for today. By revisiting Mishima's "Introduction to Hagakure," which connects samurai mindsets with modern artists, we aim to explore the way of life and mindset of contemporary artists.

By overlaying the teachings of "Hagakure" with modern life, we will implement a collaborative exhibition where contemporary artists and craft artisans respond to these teachings with craft and art pieces, showcasing their interpretations through their respective works.
