Ariake Sea Has
More to Offer

During the period of Japan's isolation, the Ariake region was the sole gateway for foreign technology and culture. Even today, various assets such as art and crafts are still alive here as remnants of that period, and from these roots, something new is beginning to emerge.

We are once again turning our attention to this potential, seeking to discover the lesser-known charms of Kyushu and the new values that even we have yet to realize, and we wish to share them broadly with the world.

When considering the vast oceans, the Ariake Sea may seem small. Yet, this is what has fostered a unique culture and a carefully preserved natural environment. We hope the ONE Ariake Art Festival sparks new discoveries and creativity for all.

Ariake Region Circulating Art Project

The ONE Ariake Art Festival is a circulating art project in the Ariake region.

Through activities such as the preservation of the natural environment of the Ariake Sea and the creative efforts of children and people with disabilities, we aim to rediscover the region’s charm and challenges, and pass down the importance of living in harmony with the rich culture and nature of Ariake for future generations.
The theme is “Integration of Local Resources.”
By combining art, crafts, sports, food, sake, tea, and other cultures unique to the Ariake region, cultivated over a long period, we aim to create new experiences, products, and values.
